The Calgary Police Service Diversity Resource Team actively engages with Calgary's diverse communities. The team provides a variety of programs and presentations within the community. The team's specialized knowledge of Calgary’s diverse cultures can help obtain successful resolutions to investigations or any other incidents. They assist with investigations or incidents where specific knowledge of diverse populations can help. This includes hate crimes or hate incidents.

- Sexual & Gender Diversity - The sexuality and gender diversity community liaison is to works through direct partnership with the LGBT community to promote two-way communication, reduce stereotypical negative images, promote education and awareness, identify and resolve crime concerns and increase police awareness of community issues. - Indigenous - The Indigenous community is important to our local landscape and national identity. Calgary is located in Treaty 7, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot people. Cultural and traditional customs and practices remain strong and a part of everyday living. The communities in Calgary include First Nations, Metis and Inuit. For More Info Click Here
- African - The community liaison between members from the African communities in Calgary and the Calgary Police Service aims to facilitate open communications on matters of mutual concern including police interventions, incidents of miscommunication, and request for police assistance and participation during social, cultural and political events. The liaison works to build trust by encouraging personal contact and dialogue with people from the diverse communities of Africa. For More Info Click Here
- Caribbean & Latin Americas - The Calgary Police Service Caribbean and Latin Americas community liaison officer works to build understanding and awareness, to break down the barriers of prejudice and discrimination, and to build harmony between Calgary's diverse communities. The liaison officer's role is to create and nurture strong relationships built on mutual trust, understanding, and effective two way communication between those communities and the Calgary Police Service. - Middle Eastern - Emigration to Alberta from the Middle East has been ongoing for over 100 years, and as such the Middle Eastern communities are strong and vibrant. English is a second language for many. To help meet the specific needs of Middle Eastern communities, the Calgary Police Service helps new Canadians adjust to the police and law in Canada. - South Asia - People have been moving to Calgary from South Asia for a long time, and these unique communities continue to grow. The South Asia liaison officer interacts with Calgarians with cultural roots in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives. For More Info Click Here
- Asia - Calgary's Asia community consists of members with cultural roots from countries such as China, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, East Timor and the Philippines. - Persons with Disabilities - The City of Calgary has its roots in diversity. Part of this is in the strong and vibrant disability community, and statistics show that the population of people with disabilities will continue to change over time. With this ever-changing population come different realities and changing needs.
