    About

    The Alberta LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce exists to help build a strong Alberta economy supported by, and supportive of, diverse communities. Our mission is to grow a diverse alliance of LGBTQ+ and allied businesses and professionals to promote economic growth and prosperity in Alberta:

    • We work to build inclusive environments that foster economic prosperity in our communities.
    • We promote our member businesses and our community partners -- because we believe we are stronger together.
    • We enhance opportunities to access resources, to build skills and to create networks, partnerships and opportunities with like minded individuals and organizations.
    • We advocate and educate for the benefit of our members and the greater LGTBQ2S Community

     

    Promote - Bringing business opportunities forward to our members and giving them a platform to talk about opportunities they have for other members.

    Advocate - Encouraging inclusion and diversity in the province of Alberta and working for fair market access for our members.

    Support - Providing training, resources, education and networking events for our members for them to meet and create relationships with LGBTQ2+ and allied organizations

    Membership benefits: 

    Alberta LGBTQ+ Chamber members are invited to participate with the Chamber in numerous community events. We also offer a simple membership tier structure with inclusive benefits:

    • Opportunity to attend Chamber events at no cost or a discounted rate
    • Display marketing material at our events
    • Include your logo on our website and link back to your website
    • Opportunity for a more extensive spotlight for your business here on our website (duration and space limitations apply)
    • 2 Free Email Spotlights annually to promote your organization sent out to our email list
    • Ability to use our logo on your website and marketing material
    • Free spotlights for your organizations, events and promotions on our social media accounts
    • Ability to advertise up to 1 event annually on our website events section
    • March with the Chamber in annual pride parades in Calgary and/or Edmonton
    • Host chamber events at your business location
    • Speaking opportunity at one of our events annually (top-tier membership only)
    • Opportunity to write a blog post on our website to promote your business or service by providing valuable resources to our members and the public

    Supplier Diversity Program -  One out of every forty businesses in Canada is LGBT+-owned, but these businesses continue to deal with discirmination and prejudice. There’s a need to connect them directly with supportive business leaders to help them sustain and grow their business.

    At the same time, progressive corporations are recognizing the social and economic benefits of diversifying their supply chains. Some of these corporations now even have procurement staff with annual objectives for supplier diversity. By certifying LGBT+ businesses and connecting them to organizations looking to contribute to an inclusive Canadian economy, we’re helping create a more level playing field in the corporate supply world.

    As a certified supplier, you’ll be exposed to unique purchasing opportunities and contracts. You’ll also have the opportunity to network directly with procurement staff for large organizations with goals for diverse practices.

    In order to access our network of supplier diversity professionals and to enjoy the benefits of their diverse procurement practices, you need to certify your business. CGLCC has a certification program that ensures corporations’ resources go to deserving suppliers like you. For more info
