COUNSELLING PROGRAMS:

ADULT PROGRAMS - 18+

DEPRESSION:  

  • Take Charge of Your Life: This 14-week program for adults expands on the skills you learn in individual counselling. You will learn to control worry and rumination, how to practice self-care, and how to use mindfulness and relaxation techniques. Get the tools you need to defy depression and manage anxiety. EATING DISORDERS:

  • Overcoming Eating Disorders - Learn how to challenge your thoughts around food and your body. This 14-week program builds confidence around body image, reinforces self-esteem, and teaches you healthy coping strategies.

 

  • Eating Disorders - A Workshop for Family and Friends: Eating disorders can affect anyone, at any stage in life. Learn how to cope and support a loved one who is suffering with an eating disorder. This workshop is designed for family, friends, and loved ones, of individuals with an eating disorder. You do not need to meet with a counselor individually to register for this workshop. DOMESTIC ABUSE:

Programs for Women:

  • You are not Alone - Connect and grow with other women who have experienced abuse in a relationship through shared experience in a safe space in this 14-week program. You’ll learn personal empowerment, communication skills, and how to build a safety plan for you and your family. How to Register

 

  • Responsible Choices for Women - Understand and learn to change your aggressive behaviour in this 14-week group program. Through interactive discussions, you’ll learn healthy ways to express your emotions, the importance of self-care, and how to maintain change. How to Register

 

Programs for Men:

  • Turn for the Better - This 14-week program is for men who have experienced abuse in a relationship. You will connect and grow with other men through this shared experience and you’ll learn coping skills, how to become personally empowered, and how to manage stress. How to Register

 

  • Responsible Choices for Men - Change your life and relationships for the better with this 14-week program. Through facilitated group discussion, you’ll work on developing healthy feelings and emotions, empathy, and maintaining change in your life. How to Register

SELF-ESTEEM

  • Building Esteem - Learn to love yourself. This 12-week program will help you to change your thoughts and adopt a healthier, more positive self-awareness. Develop your personal strengths, learn how to have healthy relationships, and discover how to set boundaries. How to Register

 

  • Women and Self-Esteem (women only group) -  Create a positive, stronger sense of self in the 12-week program. Through group discussions with other women, you’ll learn to challenge your negative self-thoughts, build your personal strengths, and introduce assertiveness and boundaries into your relationships. CHILDREN AND YOUTH PROGRAMS: 

  • Responsible Choices for Children (Ages 5-16) - Children can experience all the emotions adults do, but sometimes they don’t know how to handle them. In this 10 week program, children and their parents will attend separate groups. Children will learn about big emotions, how to problem solve, and how to deal with peer pressure. Parents will develop positive parenting skills, learn how to manage stress, and communicate as a family. How to Register

 

  • Self-Esteem for Adolescents - This 12-week program will give teens the tools to create a positive, stronger sense of self and make healthy choices. Teens will learn how to challenge negative thoughts, build confidence, and develop good relationships. How to Register

 

  • Children of Divorce (Ages 4-16) - Reduce the trauma from divorce or separation in children. Both children and parents participate in this 10-week program. Each of the parents is in a separate parenting group taking place at the same time as the children’s groups. Parents will learn to improve communication with their child, set healthy boundaries and develop a functional co-parenting relationship.
