The Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council (CRIEC) is a small, robust not-for-profit organization that seeks to effectively and efficiently connect newcomer professionals with strategies designed to lead to successful employment outcomes.

 

We design, develop and implement various initiatives and strategies, such as mentoring programs, employment counseling sessions and competency (cultural and skill) workshops for both newcomer professionals and stakeholders.

NEWCOMER PROFESSIONALS 

If you are an immigrant with international training and are seeking guidance and networking opportunities to find employment in Calgary, we are here to assist you! Whether you’re an engineer from India, an IT expert from Peru, a lawyer from Britain or from another employment background in any country, we want to hear from you.

  • I'm Not in Canada - By doing some “advance” work before coming to Canada, you can be ready for success quicker. Please refer to the section below that applies to you. Please note that we do not assist in immigration or job recruitment, but there are many things you need to be aware of to begin your journey to Canada.   • Internationally Trained Lawyers - Are you an internationally trained lawyer (ITL) planning to work in Canada? You have options, which include:
  1. Practicing law in a law firm, an in house legal departments or legal clinic. These roles require accreditation in Canada.
  2. Alternative careers including near-law and non-law options. These roles do not require accreditation, but may require further training.
