    About

    ConnecTeen is a confidential peer support service for youth in Calgary and area. We are a program of Distress Centre.  Being a teen can be tough. You have more independence, responsibility, and stress as a teenager, and you probably have more questions too.

     

    We know there are some things you can’t talk to an adult about and there’s probably a lot of things your friends don’t get about you. We can connect you with a peer who understands your unique situation and can help talk you though your issues. We don’t judge. We are here to listen. Our service is confidential so no one needs to know you contacted us.

    The sign in for chat is found on our home page. The current status will tell you when the next chat session is available. Mobile users (smartphone/tablets) please note that sometimes we have difficulty with chat messages getting through. For a more stable connection, please use a computer or call or text us.

    Do you have questions but don’t know who to ask?  Are you ready to reach out for support but you aren’t sure how? At Peer Talk you will find information and real life answers on the top concerns we hear about at ConnecTeen.

     

    If you have a question, or want information you can’t find here, ask a teen volunteer today! Our teen volunteers will respond to your question within 3-5 business days and answers will be posted back to the Peer Talk section of the ConnecTeen Website. Peer Talk was designed in this way because we believe that if one person has a question, there are many more people who may also have the same question. For this reason, questions posted to Peer Talk may be answered in a manner similar to a blog post that is accessible to the public.
