  • Mentoring -We provide one on one peer support where clients can connect with another community member that has some shared lived experience. All our mentors go through extensive screening and training.

  • Gender Gear - We provide high quality gear at cost including:
    • binders and breastforms ($50-75)
    • gaffs and packers ($15-25)

Gear can be provided at no cost for those with financial barriers.

  • Expressions - We help people express themselves the way they want through safe opportunities to learn skills such as:
    • style and wardrobe,
    • hair and makeup,
    • general grooming and hygiene.

  • Transport - We support clients in accessing low barrier transportation options, including Calgary Transit’s ‘Fair Entry program’. For More Info Click Here

  • Recreation - We help provide information and connect our clients with recreational events and activities that are accessible and inclusive in their communities.

  • Work - We collaborate with our partners to provide our clients with employment opportunities such as: support with resume building, interviewing, and connecting them with potential jobs.

  • ID Changes - We help clients navigate and complete the process of having their ID documents match their identity. This might include:

• Name Changes
• Gender Marker Amendments
• Help with Other ID Documents

  • Legal Help - We assist in accessing trans affirming legal services and support including providing support around:

• Equal Access to Services
• School & Workplace Inclusion
• Human Rights Matters
• Harassment & Discrimination

  • Counselling - We provide access to low barrier counselling which is offered in a variety of formats including:

• Individual Counselling
• Family Counselling
• Group-based Counselling
• Skill Building Groups

  • Health Care - We collaborate with a network of providers to link clients with the services including:

• Affirming Family Physicians
• Hormone Therapy (HRT)
• Gender Affirming Surgeries

  • Tender Hearts

FIRST & THIRD TUESDAY 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Tender Hearts is for all 16 and over who identifies with the trans man or trans masculine umbrella. As well as all those looking to affirm, to explore, or are questioning a masculine gender identity.
Tender Hearts focuses on growing a strong toolset around topics like self-compassion, relationships, and connection. It is about creating space for positive, healthy expressions of masculinity.

 

  • Strong Hearts

FIRST & THIRD THURSDAY 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Strong Hearts is for everyone 16 and over who identify within the trans woman or trans feminine umbrella. As well as those looking to affirm, explore, or are questioning a feminine gender identity.
Strong Hearts focuses on finding that unwavering light inside of all of us. It is about building the capacity to truly embrace, love, and be kind both within ourselves and as a community.

 

  • Flowing Hearts

SECOND & FOURTH TUESDAY 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Flowing Hearts is for all 16 and over who identifies within the non-binary or genderqueer umbrella. As well as all those looking to affirm, to explore, or are questioning a non-binary gender identity.
Flowing Hearts explores topics such as body image, stereotypes, sexuality, and self-pride. It is about helping us understand who we are, how we want to grow, and how we can live authentically.

 

  • Open Hearts

SECOND & FOURTH FRIDAY 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Open Hearts is for all trans, non-binary and gender diverse individuals. As well as those looking to affirm, to explore, or are questioning a trans or gender diverse identity.
Open Hearts focuses on building community and connections. As distinct from some of the other groups, this is an open format group that is casual and informal in nature. It is about creating space for individuals to share and just be themselves.

 

  • Young Hearts

SECOND & FOURTH WEDNESDAY 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Young Hearts is for everyone 50 over who identify within the trans woman or trans feminine umbrella. As well as those looking to affirm, explore, or are questioning a feminine gender identity.
Young Hearts is a new group for trans women and trans feminine folks over 50. It focuses on supporting the unique needs and perspectives of older trans feminine folks, and especially those transitioning later in life.

 

  • Mosaic Hearts

FIRST & THIRD WEDNESDAY 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Mosaic Hearts is for all 16 and over who are trans, non-binary and gender diverse individuals and who are a part of a racialized community.
Mosaic Hearts focuses on building community and creating a brave space through helping participants find autonomy and challenging Eurocentric dominated situations to create equity.
It explores self-compassion, celebration of heritage and ethnicity, and healthy ways to bridge the gap between gender identity and ethnic or racial background.

 

  • Caring Hearts

SECOND & FOURTH THURSDAY 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Caring Hearts is for families, parents, and caregivers of trans and gender diverse children, youth and teens.
Caring Hearts finds ways to care for our children while finding ways to care for ourselves. It explores principals for gender affirming parenting, capacity building, and lots of sharing and caring.

 

  • Creative Hearts

FIRST & THIRD WEDNESDAY 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Creative Hearts is for everyone (queer, trans or ally) ages 12 to 18, looking to express themselves through any sort of art form. No previous training or experience is necessary.
Creative Hearts creates space for all of these things. Each group has a variety of creative and visual art opportunities to try out. Participants are welcome to join or work on their own projects.

 

  • Loving Hearts

SECOND WEDNESDAY 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Loving Hearts is for non-trans folks, 16 and over, who love a trans or gender individual.
This group is open to all partners, siblings and extended family, be it biological or logical, to come together and share how to affirm, support and honour both our trans loved one and ourselves.

  • Trans Affirming Network - The ‘Trans Affirming Network’ is a collection of local businesses who all share the value that it is essential to create spaces that are welcoming, respectful and inclusive of trans and gender diverse folks and are committed to working to provide this spaces themselves.   • Trans ID Alberta - Skipping Stone has been an active advocate for years in support of removing the barriers to trans and gender diverse individuals accessing name and gender marker amendments on identification.   • Training & Education - We’ve worked with businesses, non-profits and government across the country delivering comprehensive training and education around gender diversity, inclusion of trans and gender diverse individuals, and trans affirming practices. All of our educational and training sessions are delivered by educators and facilitators with extensive experience in working with the trans community and is offered through a unique combination of sharing of lived experience and evidence-based practices.
