Since 2007, Sled Island's thoughtful, eclectic programming and independent spirit have produced a one-of-a-kind festival experience. Each June, the five-day music and arts festival brings together a community of music, comedy, film and art as well as over 40,000 attendees in 30 venues, earning rave reviews from attendees, artists and media across the globe.

 

  • Safer Spaces & Inclusion - Everyone has the right to feel safe and included at Sled Island regardless of age, ancestry, colour, family status, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, mental disability, physical disability, place of origin, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or source of income.   • Guest Curator - Each year, Sled Island’s guest curator puts their stamp on the festival through a handful of special programming selections. Guest curator selections join more than 200 additional bands, comedy, film and art chosen by the festival in 30 venues across Calgary.   • All Ages - Sled Island is proud to offer an array of all-ages programming each year!   • Green Island - Sled Island is dedicated to operating an environmentally responsible festival. We pride ourselves on working with festival attendees, artists, partners and The City of Calgary to implement initiatives that make Sled Island and our community responsible environmental stewards.
