About

The Safe Communities Opportunity and Resource Centre (SORCe) is a multi-agency collaborative that connects people experiencing homelessness, or those at imminent risk of homelessness, to programs and services that can help to address the barriers to stable housing.

Please note that SORCe does not have access to emergency housing or emergency financial assistance. Our Resource Specialists will provide information on programs available at SORCe and in the community.

Mission - Collaborative Support for People in Need

Vision - Homeless serving agencies working together to meet the needs of our clients where they are today.

Values -

  • Housing First - By providing the stability of permanent housing first, those experiencing homelessness will be better equipped to address the underlying issues contributing to homelessness.
  • Inclusivity - SORCe is a welcoming space where all people are treated with respect and dignity, regardless of race ancestry, place of origin, religious belief, skin colour, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, or age.
